"Warning: you can’t book room+dinner package with Expedia (literally not an option) and the hotel will not allow you to add dinner/eat at the restaurant. Also there are essentially no other places to eat in Hakone as most restaurants close very early, or are not open at all during the week. Perhaps it would be a better experience booking through another website/provider. The room itself was enjoyable with traditional materials and amenities. The balcony bath was nice. However, some of the decorations were low quality/lazy and half of the light switches did not work. The private onsens were occupied the entire night so we couldn’t experience them."
