A kaiseki dinner which I had never experienced was amazing! Staff were so friendly and we even got free Japanese attire provided by the hotel. A truly outstanding place to stay."

"If you are looking for a traditional ryokan and a more remote area, this is the perfect place. Although it is about 45 mins from Kyoto train station, you will not be disappointed. Upon arrival, we were immediatelty greeted by the staff and welcomed with matcha tea while our bags were taken to our rooms. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. "Beautiful ryokan recently remodeled. Wonderful staff. Delicious food. A bit off the beaten path but being out of the main city offers a very relaxing environment. If you have the Go app and don’t mind paying for taxis, then the location is not an issue. Very pleasant experience overall. "

"This is a traditional ryokan, and my second stay. First time was back in 2016 by myself. This time came here to stay with my wife. Bery friendly staff. I had a much better experience first time around, two ladies came and showed me how to change into a yukata and prepared my bed. Everything was more personal, this time they were a little busy. Too many guests. Still amazing experience. You can reserve the onsen for yourself privately. The dinner experience is a little expensive but worth it. "

"If you want an old old style, real Japanese experience with a lovely tatanmi room with easy access to central Kyoto, then it's great. We loved it. Very little English spoken (not a problem for us), and could be difficult to find if you don't arrive by taxi, but we really enjoyed our stay."
