"First time in Dominican. We stayed at Explore Legend Fantasia. Out of the dozen or so resorts we've stayed at (Mexico, Turks, Dominican), this was probably the least favorable, we will not be going back or recommending to anyone. Food was below average. Most of the staff should not work in hospitality. Plenty for kids to do. Pools were good, lots of options. Beach was okay, food and service at beach was not great. Maybe the other areas of the resort are better, we were not allowed to eat/drink at others. Ambar looked a little better, cannot comment on food/staff. We stayed at Bahia Principe in Mexico and it was a much better experience. The Expedia and Google reviews are very misleading. "

"The rooms smelled like mildew and mold upon walking in to our rooms. Bathroom had a leak from the ceiling and shower pressure was very low water was barely coming out. The staff were very helpful. There was entertainment every day. Jerk chicken hut was the best. "

"Melia Caribe is an overall safe pick for an all inclusive. The rooms are a good size. The property is well kept. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful."
