Hakone Airu was a wonderful stay that will form part of our unforgettable trip to Japan. At first, I was hesitant to book this hotel because of the limited number of reviews. In the end, I took a chance and went a "Superior Room" with in-room bath. To be honest, not sure what the difference is between the different room types. Always enjoy my stay at this property but was disappointed this time with breakfast. They no longer serve drinks to order instead a big thermos for coffee and tea were on the counter, of course taste was subpar. The manager saw my surprise at this and offered drinks to order but I believe this should be a minimum standard for a brand like Hyatt Regency. In my humble opinion, you don’t need curry in the morning buffet but you should offer quality coffee and tea to kick off the day pleasantly.
