"First we were told that we were upgraded for free to a room with a view of the River and of Ponte Vecchio. That was already a win!!! The view from the hotel room was so so beautiful. The staff were super friendly and polite and professional. The next best thing about the hotel is the buffet breakfast spread! Of all the hotels we stayed in Italy, this hotel had the best breakfast spread and the food was great quality. We especially enjoyed the variety of pastries that were nicer than those cafes...

"A traditional Italian hotel. Lots of dark wood. Staff very friendly. Breakfast view of the Duomo is stunning. Fair buffet breakfast. Roof top terrace bar. Not quite enough staff. Brilliant shower, always loads of hot water. WiFi is virtually non existent. They know this and nothing is done. Weirdly our European adapter that we’ve used all over Europe wouldn’t fit, we bought another one. Great location. You are near everywhere. "The Concierge at check-in was brilliant, trying to get us all sorted whilst also managing some very demanding American guests! He also gave some great suggestions as to different places for us to try over the bridge which were slightly off the beaten track (as we have been to Florence before). Lucky enough to receive an upgrade on the room as well which was fantastic and whilst there are some refurbishment works going on on the upper levels, we weren't impacted by them at all.
