"Not the fanciest place (but Monteverde isn’t about fancy), but the place with the most character of all our stays in CR. Friendly staff, family environment, and very communal dining areas conducive to meeting other travellers."

"This lodge isn’t for everyone, but for those whom it is well suited to it offers a wonderfully immersive rainforest experience. Our room was spacious and fairly comfortable and we felt very much like we were alone in the jungle while hotel and other amenities were very readily accessible. My only caution is that those with mobility issues could find accessing some of the rooms very challenging due to steep walkways that must be climbed to reach some cabins. There are several on the same level as the lobby/reception area, so if you aren’t comfortable with a pretty tough climb on sketchy sidewalks, in the dark, be sure to specify that. If you are able and a bit more intrepid, definitely go for the “full jungle experience”! All my attached photos were taken on the lodge grounds"
