"Excellent location, right in the action, a block to 5th ave and tons of restaurants and bars. Only a few rooms in the hotel have been renovated to look like the pictures, mine was not, looked like it was renovated in 1970, but it was clean, no mold, no bugs. Bed was firm but comfortable, smart tv and good A/C. Big issue for me was no mini fridge. Ivan the manager was awesome, very helpful and kind. Come to party or bring earplugs, the nightclub next door gets going around 1130pm and runs until...
"Definitely great for the price. Loved the two pools (although I didn't have time for them with frequent activities). Only 3 blocks away from 5th Avenue (Quintana Avenida). There were great restaurants nearby. Very clean. Loved seeing the Mayan culture on the walls. A more traditional and lovely hotel."

"Our room was close to a large generator or a/c unit but it didn’t affect our sleep. The ceiling fan above the bed wasn’t working so they made every effort to correct the problem. It took a couple of visits until it was finally fixed. We were gifted with a nice bottle of champagne and some macarons for the inconvenience. The staff was nice, super friendly and very attentive. Lucas and Javier at Spice were excellent at making us feel comfortable. Ahmed and Geronimo at Asiano and Pedro and Eric at the Chef’s Plate were great as well. We recommend the Chef’s Plate for a great dining experience. The spa was wonderful. I had a facial and body scrub with Damile who was excellent and gentle with my sunburn. 😊"

"The rooftop area was amazing and had a fun vibe to it. The entire staff was the best I’ve ever experienced at a place like this. Francisco was there almost everyday I was there on the rooftop area and he made it fun the whole time. Always provided amazing service and entertaining guy.
Ricardo who works in the lobby bar was also an absolute pleasure to sit, drink, and speak with. He provided a lot of good knowledge of the local area and was genuinely great to have as one of the first faces you see walking into the hotel.
The concierge desk, restaurant waiters, and cleaning staff were amazing as well. There are too many names to mention. Overall I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you are looking to stay in Playa Del Carmen."

"Our stay was amazing. The staff is so kind and attentive. They accommodated our group of 13 at dinner and breakfast regularly. They were very strict with who was allowed on property. We always felt safe. It was also a great location and easy to walk to 5th Ave shopping. "
"Hotel Lunata was for me the perfect place to stay in Playa del Carmen. It is a modest sized hotel located in the heart of Playa with beautifully appointed theme rooms some of which overlook the town's main shopping thoroughfare (Quinta Ave) and a backyard area and patio that is pleasing and peaceful. As a solo traveler I found my room to be plenty big, impeccably clean and well maintained and attractive. Plus, the air conditioning worked wonderfully. The room was also reasonably quiet despite the noise produced by the many restaurants and night clubs located nearby.
Kudos, too, to Nikita, the front desk host who was so helpful in recommending things to do and places to visit and making all the arrangements for these activities as well. Her assistance was invaluable and she made my stay in Playa so much more enjoyable.
I will definitely stay at Hotel Lunata on my next trip to Playa and I would encourage you to do the same. You won't be disappointed."
